Vertiv agrees to acquire King Environmental Services in expansion of EMEA fluid management

The critical digital infrastructure provider expands its thermal services platform into Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Vertiv Holdings Co. (VRT) announced Wednesday that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire King Environmental Services Ltd., a specialist in fluid management, commissioning and load-testing services based near Dublin, Ireland.

Key takeaways

  • Acquisition expands Vertiv's thermal services into Europe, Middle East and Africa.
  • King Environmental Services specializes in fluid management, flushing, water treatment and load testing.
  • Deal builds on Vertiv's 2025 acquisition of North American fluid management provider PurgeRite.
  • Transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Acquisition terms and scope

The transaction covers the acquisition of King Environmental Services, which was founded in 2002 and serves customers across the Europe, Middle East and Africa region from hubs in North Dublin and Frankfurt. The company provides system preparation, pipework flushing, filtration, water treatment, performance validation, and thermal and electrical load testing for liquid-cooled data centers and other mission-critical facilities.

CEO Gio Albertazzi said in a statement released Wednesday that the agreement advances the company's strategy to support customers across the thermal chain. "Our acquisition of PurgeRite, in December of 2025, established an important fluid management foundation in North America, and KES is expected to build on that foundation in EMEA," Albertazzi said. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed by the company, which noted the deal is not expected to be material to its financial results.

Why it matters

The acquisition addresses growing demand for liquid cooling and fluid management as artificial intelligence and high-performance computing workloads increase heat densities in data centers. Proper fluid quality, chemistry and flow balance are necessary to prevent equipment degradation and ensure thermal performance, according to the company. The deal combines King Environmental Services' regional field expertise with Vertiv's existing infrastructure services portfolio.
