HubSpot, Inc. (HUBS) announced on Monday that its Board of Directors authorized a restructuring plan resulting in the elimination of approximately 7% of the company's workforce, or nearly 660 employees. Chief Executive Officer Yamini Rangan told employees in a memo that the company is shifting its strategy from building software to delivering customer outcomes with artificial intelligence.

"Over the past year, we have shifted our strategy from building software that helps customers grow to delivering outcomes for them with AI," Rangan said in a regulatory filing. "That shift is transforming product, pricing and how we serve our customers. But we also need to fundamentally change the way we are organized to compete and win."

The company estimates it will incur charges of approximately $65 million to $75 million in connection with the plan. These charges consist primarily of future cash expenditures related to severance, notice periods, employee transition, and benefits payments. HubSpot will exclude these restructuring charges from its non-GAAP financial measures.

HubSpot expects to recognize the majority of these charges in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2026. The company expects role eliminations to be substantially complete by the end of the first quarter of fiscal year 2027, and substantially all related cash payments to be made by June 30, 2027.

Impacted U.S. employees will generally receive severance of 20 weeks of base pay plus one week per year of service, up to 30 weeks. Transition support also includes five months of health benefits, six months of career transition outplacement services, and the retention of work laptops and work-from-home gear.

In addition to the restructuring announcement, HubSpot reaffirmed its revenue, non-GAAP operating income, and non-GAAP net income per common share guidance for the third quarter of fiscal year 2026 and for the full fiscal year ending December 31, 2026. The company also stated it remains confident in achieving its longer-term operating margin targets shared at its Analyst Day on September 17, 2026.
